Are you one of the approximately four million people in the United States who have experienced symptoms of anxiety? These symptoms can affect many aspects of your life. It can appear as a heart attack or an oppsessive compulsive behavior. These attacks can interupt your college studies, business activities or relationships with those you love. That is why it is so necessary to stop anxiety attacks when they first arise.

Anxiety symptoms will quite often include exaggerating problems or constant worrying, easily agitated, being unreasonable, headaches, stomach aches and chest pains. In order to stop anxiety attacks you need to recognize the problem and have it diagnosed by a professional. A medical physician can perform tests to differentiate between an “imagined” physical symptom and an actual condition that may need treatment.

In order to find a means to stop anxiety attacks there has been quite a bit of study as to what causes anxiety symptoms. Genetics, environment, and chemical brain activity have come to the forfront as contributing factors.

Research shows there is a definite correlation between heredity and certain illnesses. The brain requires its neurotransmitters to keep the nerve cells working properly. When the chemicals in these neurotransmitters are out of balance they inhibit normal function. Then there are the effects of one’s environment that can be the cause of anxiety. Going through stressful situations such as the death of someone very close, divorce or being in the military can all be contributing factors that worsen anxiety.

Most of us get a little nervours when asked to do something out of our comfort zone but an axiety attack is not the same. A true anxiety attack can make the sufferer feel like they are having a heart attack to the point that they will have difficulty breathing and severe chest pains. Prior to being ascertained as having an anxiety disorder, an individual will more than likely been rushed to the hospital more than once at the onset of an attack.

It is imperative to see a doctor to get the testing necessary if you suspect you have an axiety disorder. Being able to complete even the simplest tasks will be impossible without professional intervention and care to stop anxiety attacks.
