Tom Nicoli, nationally know hypnotist recently was interviewed about his new Stress Relief Program.

I wanted to take a moment while I had this chance to talk to you about something that is really important and it is one of the most common things that we all deal with or actually, not all of us do deal with it, and it’s stress!

Most stress, we now realize is brought on by what we do ourselves. Now, this about this for moment— stress doesn’t happen until we’re overwhelmed we bring on stress when we get overwhelmed, until our thoughts and our feelings become overwhelmed and then we get stressed. However, we can’t get overwhelmed unless we allow it to happen and we allow it to happen when we are not aware, when we are kind of living like most people live and the way I used to live where you act and react and you stumble through life and then you have moments of hindsight and realize what you could have done and what you should have done and what you would’ve done if you had been more aware.

Here are some common causes of stress.

But there is a way to become more aware, to be able to be more interactive in these thoughts and situations in events that happen because quite frankly, the day is going to go the way the day is going to go sometimes and it isn’t what happens, it’s how we deal with it. But there is something that you should know and that is there is positive stress. The negative stress is that which overwhelms us and cause us a lot of problems. The majority of physical problems are related to stress and emotional problems.

When we get overwhelmed, we can’t think clearly and our body suffers as well, but positive stress is a good thing, so we want to have that adrenaline rush when it saves us and protects us maybe from not stepping in front of a moving vehicle. So there are times when that response like the fight or flight syndrome that you may have heard about is really important and helpful, but the majority of the stress we deal with is negative stress and it can be dealt with on a very easy and effective way.

Imagine this, you get to sit comfortably for about 20 minutes a day with a pair of headphones, relaxing, daydreaming and for some reason of reasons, it just seems as if you’re able to deal with things better. You have a better attitude, you are just more positive and upbeat and the day seems calmer and flows better and I know you’ve experienced that, we all do, when we just have those days that seem to go well.
